Rejuvenating Injections

Botulinum toxin has long been used in the medical cosmetic industry to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Forehead lines, Frown lines and Crow's feet respond very favourably to injected Botulinum toxin (often referred to as Botox)® or more recently as Vistabel®). The effects of Botulinum last about 6-9 months. The toxin effectively paralyses a few of the muscles involved in expression which results in a smoother skin. It is a safe and proven treatment which was previously the preserve of the rich and famous but which is now more or less a 'mainstream' cosmetic procedure.

Botulinum is not effective on the lower face, which is where another type of injectable treatment comes into its own. Dermal Fillers are ideal for correcting wrinkles and deep lines in facial skin. The effect of the injections is effectively to 'push up' and thus smooth the skin. Collagen derived from animal sources was popular in the last decade as a Filler but its use is declining owing to a relatively high incidence of allergic reactions and subsequent unfavourable media coverage. The active ingredients of this new generation of synthetic, non allergenic Fillers are protein or complex sugar molecules which biodegrade harmlessly over 6-18 months - leaving no residues. We use a number of brands of dermal fillers at the clinic, including Laresse and Teosyal which are suitable for almost all skin types and requirements.
Fillers can be used anywhere on the face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, either alone or alongside other treatments such as Botox and Vistabel, leaving no resdiues.

Botox® or Vistabel® injections are undertaken at the Clinic by a fully qualified medical practitioner who has received further training in Botulinum toxin injection techniques.

Dermal filler injections are undertaken at the Clinic by our fully qualified Registered General Nurse, who has received further training in Dermal Filler injection techniques.
